Jack Barry--1912

Not only was Jack Barry a defensive wiz
at shortstop for the Philadelphia
A’s, as they captured three World
Championships in 1910, ’11 and ’13…
he was also very good at yoga poses.

Editor’s Note: Barry would hit .243 in 11
big league seasons for the A’s and Red
Sox. He would retire following the 1919
season and take his place as the head
coach for the Holy Cross University
baseball program in 1921, where he
would guide the Crusaders to an .802
winning percentage over forty seasons,
which included the 1952 College World
Series Championship.
