Brandon Jones--2008
A late round pick in 2003 of the Braves,
who waited a year to sign as a
draft-and-follow out of Tallahassee CC
(FL), it took Brandon Jones just four
years to land on this special 2008 rookie
card--- one which included an autograph.

Called up to the bigs in 2007, Jones had
his finest big league campaign in '08,
hitting .267 in 41 games, while he
connected for his lone big league homer
off Ervin Santana.The future looked
pretty bright for the young fly catcher, as
the Atlanta outfield was an open
competition in left and center field, while
Jeff Francouer was cemented in right
field.

However, it just didn't click for Jones who
saw action in just five games early in
2009, only to be sent to Triple-A Gwinett,
never to resurface in the bigs.

Fast forward four more years from when
this card was issued and Jones was out
of organized baseball, toiling for the
Kansas City T-Bones of the Independent
American Association.

It's amazing how life changed for Jones
in such a short time... from signing his
first contract, to signing special rookie
cards to signing a contract to play in
independent ball.

Editor's Note: Jones would hit .257 in 51
games spread out over three big league
seasons, beginning in 2007.
